The 5th Annual Fort Drum Mountain Warrior Sled Hockey Tournament returns to the Roo’s House at SUNY Canton for another action-packed weekend March 3rd-5th. The first puck drops Friday at 7:00AM with games running all weekend. In the adaptive sport, each player is seated in a sled mounted on two blades. They propel themselves using two shortened sticks with ice picks mounted at the handle of the stick. Each of the players on the team face certain challenges, but they move quickly and compete fiercely.
There will be raffles and a silent auction throughout the weekend. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Fort Drum Mountain Warriors Sled Hockey team as they continue to pursue athletic competition. For information about sled hockey contact Mark McKenna at 315-854-0383 or Kellie Hitchman at 315-265-3105.
Presented by MAC Sports, the Society of American Military Engineers, Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley, Canton Knights of Columbus, Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, and the Edward C. Seymour VFW Post 1231 in Canton.
