Swim a Mile for Hospice

A beloved community event hosted by Hospice and Potsdam Recreation at scenic Postwood Park in Hannawa Falls, NY, Swim a Mile for Hospice takes place every August. This is an open-water, non-competitive swim to raise money to support our programs of patient care and family services.  Not an athlete? No problem! Participants complete the 1-mile course at his or her own pace. Swim a Mile also offers a 1/2-mile course option for youths and to allow first-time participants a chance to get their feet wet. Swimmer safety is our top concern. We have dozens of boats and kayaks, as well as five certified lifeguards spread out along the course to offer any needed assistance.

Not a Swimmer? There are plenty of other ways to get involved as a volunteer or join us in supporting a swimmer!
