Our Main Fundraisers
- Dueling Pianos
-
While matters involving the work of Hospice typically center around very serious life events, we are breaking away from the heavier aspect of the services we provide to host an evening of pure entertainment to support our patients and the community. On Saturday, May 30th, 2020, Hospice is presenting the 4th Annual Dueling Pianos show – it promises to be another evening of great music, comedy and enjoyment for adults of all ages!
Cheel Campus Center will be ROCKIN’ when the musicians from the Flying Ivories take the stage! This is not a concert, it is an all request show featuring anything the audience wants to hear. Whether its 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or current, rap, country, or rock and roll. Anything you can imagine, they can perform. A dueling piano show is extremely interactive and highly entertaining. The audience is thoroughly involved and participates throughout the entire event. The crowd is sure to be laughing, clapping, singing, dancing, and loving every minute the performers are on stage. Be prepared with your list of special requests to make your mark on this great show! Click here for a sneak peak!!!
Tickets will go on sale in February 2020 and will be first-come, first-served!
- Tastes Brunches
-
Our popular Gourmet Brunch fundraiser celebrates the important partnership of Hospice donors and volunteers. Thanks to generous community support, participants enjoy an exceptional four-course meal and dining experience while raising much needed funds to support our important programs. Tastes occurs twice each year, allowing St. Lawrence County residents two chances to dine with us; Tastes of Autumn is hosted in Massena during the month of October and Tastes on the River is hosted in Ogdensburg in April.
Tastes events highlight the special talents of our friends and neighbors. Everyone from the chefs preparing the entrees to the wait staff are volunteering their time and talents to support our important work. In addition to the main entrees, guests can expect to enjoy specialty soup, salad, bread and desserts all provided by local area businesses.
Tickets are available for purchase by contacting the Hospice Center at 265-3105. For more information about dates and menu choices, be sure to check our Events Calendar or follow us on Facebook!
- Hospice Radiothon
-
The Annual Radiothon to Benefit Hospice is more than just a fundraiser! Each fall, community members tune in to listen to powerful stories from individuals who have been directly impacted by our services including friends and family members whose loved ones were cared for by Hospice, healthcare providers who collaborate with Hospice, community members who have participated in education or support programs, and Hospice volunteers who offer their time to help comfort patients.
Easily our most important educational tool, speakers give listeners insight to the special kind of compassionate care and support Hospice provides. Thanks to the teamwork of many local radio stations, this fundraiser features a live broadcast from the Hospice Center. The Radiothon for Hospice is simulcast to an estimated 75,000 listeners in St. Lawrence County and Southern Ontario on the following radio stations:
- WQTK/92.7 FM
- WLFK/95.3 FM
- WMSA/1340 AM
with support from:
- WSNN/99.3 FM

- Swim a Mile for Hospice
-
A beloved community event hosted by Hospice and Potsdam Recreation at scenic Norwood Beach, Swim a Mile for Hospice takes place every August. This is an open-water, non-competitive swim to raise money to support our programs of patient care and family services. Not an athlete? No problem! Participants complete the 1-mile course at his or her own pace. Swim a Mile also offers a 1/2-mile course option for youths and to allow first-time participants a chance to get their feet wet. Swimmer safety is our top concern. We have dozens of boats and kayaks, as well as five certified lifeguards spread out along the course to offer any needed assistance.
Not a Swimmer? There are plenty of other ways to get involved as a volunteer or join us in supporting a swimmer!

- AMVETS 265 Ladies Auxilliary Annual Walk-a-thon
-

Organized each year by the members of the Parishville AMVETS Post 265 Ladies Auxiliary, the 5-Mile walk has helped raise essential funds to support our services. The event features a poker run, luncheon and prizes. Grab a buddy, lace up your sneakers and join us this fall!
- Colton Ski Challenge
-
Each winter, students of the Colton-Pierrepont National Honor Society organize a Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe-A-Thon at Higley Flow State Park. The students organize every aspect of the event including gathering donations from local businesses for refreshments and promoting the fundraiser at school and in the community. Weather conditions won’t prevent the Hospice Challenge! Participants have been known to brave below freezing temperatures some years or enjoy a nice winter hike during years without snow. Whatever the weather, this event is always enjoyable and the students do a phenomenal job each year!

- Motorcycle Run for Hospice
-
Each year in July, 100’s of motorcyclists rally together to support Hospice services.
Founded by an informal group of Hospice supporters and motorcycle enthusiasts in 2000, the event is easily one of the most anticipated motorcycle runs of the summer. The 100+ mile ride, which covers most of St. Lawrence County, features multiple stops at local watering holes with raffles and prizes throughout the day. Riders are also invited to enjoy a fantastic dinner at the Clark-Robinson American Legion in Norwood immediately following the run.
This event draws an immense amount of community support, not only from the participants who ride in it, but also the numerous businesses and individuals who either sponsor the event or donate items for the silent auction and raffles. Hospice thanks all those involved!
