Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley’s Autumn Workshop Series
Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley will be hosting three new workshops in October aimed at helping those in mid-life and beyond.
The workshops will feature topics on end of life planning, maintaining resiliency through life changes and self-care skills. They will be held on alternating Wednesday evenings throughout the month of October:
October 2nd – First Steps for End of Life Planning – “this workshop will walk participants through the basics of starting an end of life plan and is intended for those who have not yet begun their end of life planning.”
October 16th – Finding Meaning at Mid-Life and Beyond – “as we move through different stages of life we often struggle with our identity. Whether it be empty-nests, retirement or relocation, changes to our identity can come with grief and confusion. This workshop is intended to help individuals normalize the grief that comes with identity loss and offer tips on resiliency.”
October 30th – Self-Care for the Sandwich Generation – “The Sandwich Generation is a generation of people (usually in their 40’s to 70’s) who care for their aging parents while supporting their own children. Those in this unique role may feel stressed and overwhelmed at times; this workshop will offer a calming space to learn about self-care techniques and resources.”
All workshops will take place from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Hospice Center located on Route 11 between Potsdam and Canton. Light refreshments will be available.
Admission is free; however, pre-registration is required. Interested individuals can register by contacting Samantha Jones at (315) 265-3105 or samj@hospiceslv.org.
