You may have found yourself exposed to more loss and grief than ever before during this difficult time. Even if the effects of the current health crisis haven’t impacted you directly, you may be seeing them in your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and relatives.
Comforting someone who is experiencing a loss is among the most difficult of all social interactions. Sometimes, the things we say (or don’t say) can inadvertently cause more pain.
How do you respond to so much loss in a way that is supportive?
Join us as we discuss ways to offer your condolences during this tumultuous time with Professor David Hornung of St. Lawrence University.
Topics will include:
- Helpful things to say/do when you don’t know what to say
- Not ranking grief
- Avoiding “at least…” statements
- Avoiding comparing grief
This Lunch & Learn will take place via Zoom Meetings on Tuesday, June 16th at 2:00 p.m.
